As my Korean friends and followers might be well aware two weeks ago I've posted a call to action post on my Facebook account by starting a funding campaign for the next big project/ dream-come-true I am working on now.
I am very grateful for the huge support by comments, sharing and even press attention. And my biggest gratitude is of course for those few nice people who donated. Funding raise will be up to 2015 end of December and I would like to invite not only Koreans but people from all over the world who would to support my idea and its realization. More about project just in a bit.
I want to make this more fun of the donating experience so thus I reopened my etsy shop with variable price range so that people who donated will get an artwork of mine instantly and of course will be invited to the final exhibitions with more goodies to expect ^^

More on my project.
I have been living in Korea for 3 years now and my first visit to Jeju was also 3 years ago. Since then due to spectacular and unpredictable turn of events I fell in love with the Island and it has become my second home.
I did my first exhibition in Korea here in 2013 based on Baltic Gods with opportunity to present my culture to the locals and moreover be overwhelmed by the similarities of Jeju's own culture and shamanistic believes. So I started my study of local mythology and and getting up hopes of making a series of pictures based on Jeju Gods. And on 2014.08 I have officially started my project.
The idea is to represent 8 or more of 18,000 Jeju gods in pictures by combining traditional etching print techniques, Korean painting, my love for Jeju and of course inspiration from original myth tales.
The progress is long and scheduled to finalize in 2016.08 by taking these images of gods on exhibition around the world. But first things first - study and creating.

Progress so far.
In 2014 summer I had wonderful opportunity to learn Korean painting techniques. With this not much known technique outside Korean borders I want to combine it with something that has been widely used for centuries in Europe and is gradually disappearing now even in the West - copper plate prints.

Not only testing of how the techniques work out together + creating the images + studying the culture and traveling around Jeju's sacred places requires a lot of time and financial resources but final goal of making exhibitions overseas to present the amazing Jeju culture I've felt in love with is... big ^^
Any kind of donation will be appreciated. Any kind of donation will make the project better, bigger, worth it.
